dvidešimt šeši; action
in front of the Hospital
[Lithuania finds himself standing outside on badly-made robotic legs, staring at a town he doesn't remember. He'd been told he was in Mayfield, so that must be this, but there's no recognition. He looks down at his hands, just as robotic as his legs, and then at the snow banks. He'll have to move carefully if he wants to get--
Where is he even going? He tells himself the sudden shaking that takes over is just the cold, but he's not sure he believes that. He can see houses; does he have one of those? Which one is it? Is there anyone who would be looking for him? Of course, even if there was he wouldn't recognize them.
Paralyzed by an overwhelming amount of problems and an overwhelming lack of even the most basic sort of knowledge on how to go about solving them, he stands trembling in front of the hospital and listens to the occasional electric pop of his limbs.]

She promised Johan she was going to go to the hospital only to get some medicine to quell her nausea and come right back (and wouldn't put it past him to secretly follow her to make sure of that) and she meant it. Not only can she barely walk like this, but it hurts more than she can bear to see all this chaos and be utterly unable to do anything.
When she sees Lithuania... or what looks like Lithuania, but with one of the most bizarre attachments she's ever seen, standing around in front of the hospital and looking completely confused.]
Lithuania?
[Oh, God. What happened to him?]
no subject
O-oh, that's me...
[It's mumbled, but not so quietly as to go unheard.]

[Nina knows that look. She recognizes it too well. He doesn't remember...]
My name is Nina. You don't remember me, do you?
no subject
I'm afraid I don't remember... Well, anything before--ah, before I was wherever they took me.
[Before they operated on him, stole his legs and a piece of his brain and left him with these half-useless limbs and a completely useless memory bank.]
no subject
[That is not good. She stares at his limbs. He looks so odd this way.]
I think we should just get you home. I know where you live. I know I'm asking a lot of you, but you have to trust me. Can you do that?
[Again, Nina feels like she's going to faint, but she manages to press through it for now.]
I can tell you a few things about yourself, if you want. If you think you can handle it.

Then, by pure chance, as she and Dragonair walk (or in the latter's case, float) toward the Hospital, she sees him. Or...well. Someone who looks like him, because the last time she saw him he didn't look kind of like a robot, but screw it.]
Toris!

Hey, you okay?

I--something happened, and I can't--
[Is it really safe to be telling everyone who happens to recognize him he can't remember anything? But this is only a little girl...]
I can't remember you, Miss. Or a-anything else.

And then Estonia recoginizes the figure on the mechanical parts and any sense of wonder is replaced with a stomach-churning dread.]
L-Lithuania?

There's nothing, though. Yet another stranger who probably isn't, someone who knows his name while he doesn't have any idea who they are.]
Um. Yes?
no subject
Do you know what happened? To you?

[Lithuania's attempt at gesturing is cut off by his arm coming loose. He goes about trying to push it back into place.]
I was told I was experimented on, and--well, I remember the operation, I was awake for i-it, but because of--s-something they did...
[Every time he has to explain this he can't help but remember the actual incident.]
I c-can't remember anything before the surgery. A girl inside w-who had also been experimented on told me my name and a little bit about things, b-but...
[He still has no idea who he's even talking to.]

Which puts her on a numbed routine. She works at the hospital and hopes that attending work can help distract her. So imagine her surprise when the plan to distract herself turns up exactly the person she was looking for. ] Li... Lithuania-san!
no subject
A-ah, hello.
[There's no way he can fake being able to remember anything, but he isn't sure how to just bring it up. Still, his confusion is fairly obvious.]
no subject
[ HM he looks a bit different. ]
... Li-Lithuania-san, wha... what happened to you, you look-... ???

[He says each word uncertainly, as if he's not sure the sentence even makes sense. Miss Koharu spoke of Mayfield as the cause, at least, so hopefully it doesn't sound ridiculous.]

I-I was experimented on, apparently. My a-arms are the same.
[He lifts one of his hands. Electricity arcs between the fingers before settling down again.]

[Looks at it.]
Does it hurt?
no subject
[He'd be in more pain if he were anyone else, not that he realizes this. He moves a bit and his knee locks up, nearly knocking him over.]
It's not neat at a-all, though.

Just when he thinks he should head back the way he came he catches sight of someone familiar]
Lithuania! Hey!
[Latvia hasn't seen him since the first night he got here. Understandably, excited he runs towards him, only to slow down when he notices something different with his arms and legs]
Lithuania... Are you okay?
no subject
Oh, um...
[Well, he's obviously not okay, given how he's attempting to reattach his robotic arm.]
I could be worse?
[He's not sure who he's talking to, either. Obviously someone who knows him, but nothing else.]
no subject
What... what happened to you?
[He's obviously distraught but seems scared to get any closer]
no subject
[Arm reattachment successful!]
