2nd Case

A: Action - Around Town, early evening ]

_{[ Even though he allowed his partner to take full lead on this little investigation of theirs, Carlton can not not launch his own mini-investigation in the process.

There is always a motive to a crime, but despite being a well-experienced detective, his efforts in finding said motives are coming up fruitless - which does nothing but aggravate the ever loving crap out of him.

What's worse, he can't help but feel that O'Hara was right in saying this was right up Spencer's (and collectively, Psych's) alley. Not that he was going to admit that little fact to anyone.

B: Phone - Later that same evening ]

_{[ Between working at the office and failing miserably with his investigating, Carlton's mood is sort of on the sourpuss side. Well, more-so than usual anyway.

First things first. He wants his baby back. He can't protect and serve without his service weapon, of course. ]}

I don't suppose any of you dunderheads would know just exactly where I could get my M1911 back, right? And before some smart-ass answers, I don't mean the ones I can purchase in town.

A 2.5 lb semi-automatic pistol that's standard as a US law enforcement and military weapon, and capable of firing seven .45 ACP cartridges at 825 feet a second.

You have a problem with that?

...No. Just a hard time understanding how you could fire all that off without taking a breath.

Are you with the police?

Once-ler, and I assume you don't have a radio on you to call the army in for backup, do you? Just wanted to make sure before I got my hopes up too much.

For God's sake. Manners cost you nothing and they're more likely to get you actual answers.

_{[ Ow, she's right. ]} Right.

That being said and done, have you found anything else to use in this investigation?

[ She sighs, frustrated. ] As much as I hate to say this, nothing concrete yet. Just these random pieces of information that, while strange, don't really seem to be the smoking gun we're looking for. I did check out the City Hall while pretending to look for a job, though. This Mayor Doe sure seems to keep busy; I overheard his secretary shut everyone looking for an appointment with him down, claiming that he's all booked up for the month. Now, I'm not so sure that's the true story, but I could only stay for so long without raising suspicions.

Buuuut I hear bad things about people who go there! That in exchange for what you asked, they'll take your limbs! Or your memories!

More like looking for evidence. Something that could be a smoking gun in getting the hell out of here.

I thought your search pattern was familiar looking! Just like I was taught back home.

But I don't know if you'll find any evidence of how to get out of here. Folks have looked around a lot and never really found anything. At least none that I have heard from. And whatever is keeping us here is good at cleaning up after itself. Usually.

Even the best criminal slips up eventually, but either this bastard really wants to make sure he's not caught, or he's got partners assisting him. _{[ glances towards the man ]} You wouldn't happen to have anything helpful in terms of what we're dealing with here, huh?

I heard you can request things at the Post Office. It was also recommended to me that it is not the best choice.

Not recommended? It's a freakin' post office! What's the worse that could happen?

Might ask you for your arm or something such as that.

Not only does that sound like a load of crap, but last time I checked I was pretty sure dismemberment was illegal just about everywhere.
